Real gold scratches. Real gold bends. Real gold sits in a box because you're afraid to wear it.Treshire is built from something different. Something that performs where gold doesn't.
The metal
316L medical-grade stainless steel is the same metal used in surgical implants, bone screws, and medical instruments. It does not corrode. It does not react with skin. It does not bend under daily wear.
Most fashion jewellery is made from brass or zinc alloy — metals that oxidise quickly, react with sweat, and turn skin green within days. 316L steel does none of that. It is chemically inert, meaning it will not react with your body regardless of how long you wear it.
This is not a marketing claim. It is materials science.
The plating
PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition. It is a vacuum-based process where gold molecules are fused directly onto the steel surface at a molecular level - not brushed on, not dipped, not sprayed.
The result is a bond that is 10x thicker than standard gold-flash plating and significantly more resistant to daily wear, sweat, and water.
Every Treshire piece is plated to 18K gold standard. The colour, the warmth, the weight of it - indistinguishable from solid gold to the eye.
What this means for you
Waterproof
Shower in it. Sweat in it. Wash your hands wearing it. The plating will not lift, bubble, or fade from water exposure.
Hypoallergenic
316L steel contains no nickel in reactive form. Safe for sensitive skin, pierced ears, and all-day wear without irritation.
Tarnish-resistant
PVD plating does not oxidise the way standard plating does. The gold colour stays true - no green skin, no dull patches, no colour shift.
Built for 24/7 wear
Designed to stay on. No taking it off before the gym, the shower, or bed. Wear it and forget it - that is the point.
One thing to know
PVD plating is significantly more durable than standard gold plating - but it is not indestructible. Prolonged exposure to chlorine (swimming pools) and harsh chemicals can affect the plating over time. Heavy abrasion from high-contact activities - like contact sports, gym equipment, or rough surfaces - can cause surface scratches with repeated use. We recommend removing your pieces before swimming in chlorinated water, avoiding direct contact with perfume, and taking them off during high-impact physical activity.
Everything else - showers, sweat, seawater, daily life - your Treshire handles without issue.
